Bien-ZenkerAs a prefab home manufacturer, we are always interested in the wishes of (prospective) homeowners. The topic of windows never gets old. New trends keep emerging, and we wonder what actually appeals to you?
Do you prefer very large windows or even floor-to-ceiling window walls? Or would you rather choose more discreet options that offer greater privacy? Obviously, each choice has its own advantages and disadvantages.
What do you prefer and why?
We at Bien-Zenker look forward to your suggestions and experiences, which we consider valuable input for our daily work.

I just finished my reply to SvenKeller, and when I tried to send it, the thread suddenly disappeared, but now it has reappeared here *surprised*
Oh, is the colleague still on vacation?
Threads about "floor-to-ceiling windows" https://www.hausbau-forum.de/threads/bodentiefe-Fenster-warum-bodentiefe-Fenster-vor-Nachteile.28304/ and about "hypes" https://www.hausbau-forum.de/threads/erklaerung-der-hypes.24943/ already exist here.
Besides following façade fashion, there is a longer-term and ongoing economic trend of hoping that window manufacturers can at least partially offset the additional costs for dream bathrooms, kitchens, or similar features.
Currently, there are no real trends: no shifts in preference between folding and tilt-and-slide windows, no demand for outward-opening patio doors, nor a (retro) trend towards box windows, bay windows, or similar styles. Film finishes are in anthracite or occasionally wood look, but no pink, animal prints, or techno/graffiti/tattoo styles.

Yes, it was indeed a mistake when entering the data... Thank you for the detailed response and the links!

you can see quite a lot of mullions My (subjective, not counted) overall impression here on the forum is that many homeowners are not aware that for double casement windows, they need to explicitly specify if they want them "without mullions"—in the worst design cases, this results in only the "second emergency exit" being made with a mullion, causing adjacent windows of the same size to look slightly different.
From my point of view, the demand for RC2 security ratings is somewhat "hyped," while little attention is paid to the type of sealing, whether overlapping or central seals. It is also peculiar that aluminum frames are either not considered at all (often plastic, including for front doors and – importantly – lift-and-slide doors) or only considered in combination with wood, which means a price jump equivalent to going from an economy to a luxury model.
Another widespread issue is the lack of consideration for window cleaning, for example in air spaces of entrance halls or above the headboard in master bedrooms.
For those who plan their facades with very irregular dimensions and proportions—causing a sort of chaotic mix—it often seems extremely important to distribute this asymmetry symmetrically.

Here, about 50% of the windows are white, with the rest in anthracite or light gray. Many Scandinavian wooden houses have outward-opening windows, not tilt-and-turn, but with a central hinge. There are hardly any roller shutters or similar; mostly, pleated blinds are sufficient for us. The material is usually PVC. For patio windows and doors, a few affluent homeowners have lift-and-slide doors, but mostly it’s just a regular door. Fixed side panels are common. Floor-to-ceiling windows are increasingly seen at the top as well, but that’s not yet widespread—maybe around 25%.
