ᐅ Realistic Carport Costs? How Much Did Your Carport Cost?

Hello everyone,

After casually asking my architect about the costs for our planned carport, he estimated, based on volume calculations, that the carport would cost around €19,000.

The carport is planned to be about 6.25m x 8.5m (20.5ft x 27.9ft), including a storage room and a bicycle room—basically a classic double carport with two lockable sliding doors at the back for storing garden equipment.

Does anyone here have experience if this figure is accurate? My parents had a brick-faced double garage with a sectional door about 15 years ago (they got around +€5,000 for it), which might be comparable.

Maybe the architect had something like that in mind, which actually matches my ideas. See the picture

Does your development plan also allow shed roofs for carports? That way, we were able to avoid having to add green roofs to the carports.
Is the price including the ground surface (paving, screed, or whatever) plus the foundations?
If so, it’s realistic to....

Are there any stylish aluminum carports like in the first post?

No, only wood.

Well, good question....
Generally, gable roofs and flat roofs are mentioned. Single-pitched roofs are not allowed. However, there is no reference to garages and carports. I have separated the carport and exterior areas (terrace, paving, etc.) into different items. In the carport item, I have mentally included the position for L-shaped concrete blocks.

I can also recommend holzon. They have a configurator to create your desired configuration and then see how much your building kit will cost. You can also request assembly. Two friends of ours bought their kits from there, and the quality looks quite good.

Yes, many people get startled; you shouldn’t compare this to those big-box store products.

They probably work too, but I don’t think they last as long.

We have a big-box store carport, built about 5 years ago, costing around 2000 euros. It’s still standing and looks like new. Honestly, I don’t see why anyone would spend so much money on a carport unless it’s made of metal, which makes it expensive. Ours is approximately 4x7 meters (13x23 feet), made of wood, and we have repainted it once. If I had to spend 20,000 euros on a carport, I would rather plan a garage instead.

Best regards,
Sabine

I see that differently. Five or ten years is obviously not a problem.

But there is a big difference when it comes to the material.
I have seen many DIY store carports where the rafters were sagging.
But everyone can decide that for themselves.
I'm lucky that the Polish border is closed.
That way, I can get a carport that costs between 12,000 and 15,000 here for 7,000.
