Hello everyone,
I would like to install insect screens for the windows and a garden door in my house.
I am completely stuck on choosing which manufacturer to go with.
Do you have any experience with this?
Would you rather do it yourself or have it done by a professional?

So, I just got frameless grids and attached them to the window frame using double-sided tape. I’m not sure if it will hold .
Otherwise, I’m considering ordering some hook-and-loop tape to try out.Honestly, save your money and buy something with a frame. Anything else will sooner or later stop sticking.
So, a quick update from me.
Fly screens with frames, which you cut to size yourself. It took 90 minutes to assemble, including measuring and everything... The next ones will definitely only take about 30 minutes.
I’m going to get some more from them for the other windows now.

So, I just got mesh without a frame and stuck it to the window frame using double-sided tape. Not sure if this will hold .I had that in three previous apartments. Never again. That stuff never stayed in place longer than a year—sometimes not even half a year. Then the mesh came off the tape, and every time I tried to fix it again. It holds for half a day and then everything is hanging loose again.

There are also roller blinds, they look quite nice but are usually a bit more expensive.Exactly – that’s what we have. We also installed a sliding insect screen door on the patio door. At the moment, I can’t even say which manufacturer it is. We told our general contractor and the supplier what we wanted during the selection process, and they took care of everything. It was included in the quoted price. I expect to find out the manufacturer soon because we want to add screens to two more windows that we unfortunately “overlooked” the first time. That way, we can cross-ventilate in the living room through the patio door and windows without annoying insects.
