Hello everyone,
what are the advantages and disadvantages of an exterior inspection cover for roller shutters? And is this type now commonly installed?
I only know about the interior ones (that’s what we currently have).

Hello,
a major advantage I see with exterior roller shutters is that they prevent thermal bridging above the window. In addition, any repair work is easier to perform without causing damage inside the room.

And that can be both a blessing and a curse. If a roller shutter is broken, you can only access it from the outside. This can sometimes be inconvenient, especially on the upper floor or the Xth story...

I have an access panel made of white plastic under the box – this way, nothing needs to be unscrewed or damaged. 😉
