Hello everyone, we have received our first quote and I wanted to ask what you have paid or if this seems reasonable.
It concerns 160 sqm (square meters) of paving with base layers (parking space, 2 terraces: paving stones priced at 18.50€ net), edging stones, etc.
Additionally, splash protection around the house with a mowing edge,
spreading topsoil and delivering an additional 20 cubic meters.
The total cost is supposed to be 13,000 €.

We are currently at just under €30,000 for:
- about 100 sqm (1,080 sq ft) of paved driveway (around €35 per sqm (3.25 sq ft) material cost for the paving stones)
- entrance platform
- 2 amber trees in front of the house
- splash guard
- 90 cm (35 inches) high garden wall with built-in benches and stairs to access the garden level above the terrace
- 50 sqm (540 sq ft) main terrace and 20 sqm (215 sq ft) secondary terrace (both covered with porcelain stoneware tiles; about €55 per sqm (5.1 sq ft) material cost for the 80x40 cm (31x16 inches) tiles)
- installation of screened topsoil
- lawn installation
Apart from the benches and laying the lawn, we have completed all the listed work, which was all carried out by the landscaping contractor.
Next year we’ll continue.

We are currently in the process of getting quotes as well. But a lot of money is spent on this.
Are the bricks already included in the price?
The quotes we have received were within a similar price range.
Since the quotes are too "expensive" for us, it looks like we will probably do most of the work ourselves and only hire a landscaping contractor for part of it. Most landscaping contractors either don’t have the time or submit defensive offers.

The wall recesses will be fitted with seating benches clad in Cumaru decking boards, featuring built-in storage boxes. The back wall of the left recess still needs to be built up. After that, the ground behind the wall will be backfilled and compacted before the screened topsoil is applied.
Decorative gravel will be placed between the terrace and the wall. A barbecue area will be installed in front of the seating corner.
Between the parking space at the front and the side terrace there will be a lawn with a small paved walkway leading to the side terrace.
