Hello everyone, we have received our first quote and I wanted to ask what you have paid or if this seems reasonable.
It concerns 160 sqm (square meters) of paving with base layers (parking space, 2 terraces: paving stones priced at 18.50€ net), edging stones, etc.
Additionally, splash protection around the house with a mowing edge,
spreading topsoil and delivering an additional 20 cubic meters.
The total cost is supposed to be 13,000 €.

Can’t you check it out in person somewhere? I wouldn’t rely on the opinion or taste of the landscape gardener. After all, you have to like it yourself. Besides, I would never buy materials without seeing them first. In reality, they always look different than in photos.
We already have three stones here – they were basically delivered to our home since someone from the neighborhood works at the building materials supplier. They are all the darker, almost black type... apparently, there are also some with a more reddish tone. The stone looks elegant – we like it so far. Of course, it’s hard to imagine how it will look across the whole surface, but that’s what online pictures are for.
We decided to go with clinker paving. It is from abc Klinker in midnight gray, covering 143 sqm (1,540 sq ft). Unfortunately, the landscaping contractor is unavailable due to a high workload and keeps postponing our project. Large slabs to reduce joint lines were also something we considered, but there are a few tricks to minimize weed growth between joints. Large slabs would have cost an additional €2,000 overall due to more complex installation and higher material costs, and they would have been made of concrete. Now we have fired bricks, which last forever.
