Hello everyone, we have received our first quote and I wanted to ask what you have paid or if this seems reasonable.

It concerns 160 sqm (square meters) of paving with base layers (parking space, 2 terraces: paving stones priced at 18.50€ net), edging stones, etc.
Additionally, splash protection around the house with a mowing edge,
spreading topsoil and delivering an additional 20 cubic meters.

The total cost is supposed to be 13,000 €.

The composite panels would cost €70 - good to know, thanks.
We are currently considering laying klinker pavers everywhere - I’m just a bit worried about maintaining the joints.

Brick paving looks nice, but I find it too high-maintenance because of the joints.

The benches will be covered with Cumaru decking boards.

So, the first bench is finished. It just needs to be oiled tomorrow.

The bench is hollow inside. There is a waterproof storage box inside. The bench can be lifted backwards thanks to the hinges at the back.

Tomorrow, work will start on the corner bench. Working with wood is fun.

WOW! That looks really great...

Thanks for the compliment!

I’ll also post photos soon once the other corner bench is finished.

Yesterday, I treated the already completed bench with teak oil.

This provides the wood with extra protection.

The landscaper called and said that Wienerberger Baltrum is quite expensive (compared to others) and he thinks the yellow color doesn’t quite fit. He recommended Dresden instead (anthracite / red-tinted).
He would also use it for the terrace, as the facing bricks work well for curves. Joint maintenance is the main argument for larger slabs – this is something to consider.
