Hello everyone, we have received our first quote and I wanted to ask what you have paid or if this seems reasonable.

It concerns 160 sqm (square meters) of paving with base layers (parking space, 2 terraces: paving stones priced at 18.50€ net), edging stones, etc.
Additionally, splash protection around the house with a mowing edge,
spreading topsoil and delivering an additional 20 cubic meters.

The total cost is supposed to be 13,000 €.

I should have trained as a landscape gardener.

For a 50m (165 feet) wall, increasing from 1 to 5 rows of planter rings and foundation, plus stairs for the entrance area with a landing, the cost is 20,000 euros.

Thanks for your feedback; I’ll take that the offer is okay. We still need to decide on the type of brick. Yesterday, we looked at the bricks in person – anthracite textured. Dry, they look more gray, but when wet really black; I don’t think that’s really our style.

We currently have reddish-blue-brown bricks:

Modern brown brick house with steep gray tiled roof, large windows, and veranda.

At the building supply store, we found some lighter, yellowish tones (e.g., cappuccino blend) quite appealing – but does that really fit?

Off topic: Masis’s house really looks great.

Have you ever looked at shell limestone? Or old town cobblestone, autumn colors (there are also more subdued shades available)? They add variety.

We have three basalt “beds.” The house is white with an anthracite-colored base. We found gray paving too monotone. Our paving is now in shell limestone.

Alternatively, you could visit a specialist dealer and get brochures. That’s how we found our paving.

Thank you. We actually went there yesterday and picked up two brochures... unfortunately, they only show pure paving stones, without any houses.
Old town paving – we had really considered that as well, but unfortunately the building supply store didn’t have any on display, so we forgot about it again.
Do you think that would also work for the terrace, or is it more suitable just for the driveway and path?
