ᐅ Bathroom Furniture / Sanitary Fixtures Selection

After recently selecting fixtures at the plumbing wholesale store and already being faced with somewhat high prices, we received the corresponding offer from the plumber yesterday. As mentioned, we were prepared and were not really shocked by the price indicated at the bottom right.

Still, I wonder if some items are really worth it.
For example, a built-in faucet with a spout for the bathtub costs €600 more than an exposed faucet.
Okay, that’s something you may or may not want.

What actually unsettles me more is the topic of bathroom furniture.
Are these pieces from the specialized plumbing store really that much better than furniture from general furniture stores or home improvement centers?
There, the vanity cabinet plus the washbasin cost €1200 (about $1300) and that’s not even in the higher price segment.
On top of that, you have the mirror cabinet and possibly a tall cabinet.
Unfortunately, the washbasins and vanity cabinets are usually specially matched.
Does anyone have tips on how to create a stylish bathroom without spending a fortune?

Hello,
as promised, here is my feedback:
The matching furniture from Pelipal is from the p_con³ series.
Today, it was delivered and installed. Wonderful—until the installer pointed out scratches on my wall cabinet and the base cabinet under the sink. For now, the cabinets will stay mounted but will be replaced soon.

The base cabinet for my Villeroy & Boch Subway 2.0 washbasin and a mid-height cabinet (60x140x33cm (24x55x13 inches) with 2 doors and a laundry flap) cost me just under 1100 euros including delivery and installation. The base cabinet alone would have been significantly more expensive at the bathroom showroom.

There is a kind of shadow gap between the washbasin and the base cabinet. It looks good and makes later installation or removal easy.

Conclusion: I would do it again.

Could you possibly upload a photo of your sink with the vanity cabinet? We want to use the same sink.

As a former master craftsman in sewer and water installation, my recommendation to all homebuilders is this: Before the architect or design engineer creates the sanitary (plumbing) specification, visit a major plumbing supplier’s showroom and decide exactly which sanitary fixtures and fittings you want. Provide the architect or design engineer with the precise product names and order numbers of these selected fixtures so they can prepare the specification and obtain competitive bids.

I always enjoyed persuading clients, after the contract was awarded, to visit the plumbing showroom. There, it was my job to convince them to choose better and more attractive options. With new prices without competition, it’s wonderful—this is when the contractor's cash register really rings!

I had our bathroom furniture custom-made by a carpenter.
