ᐅ Bathroom Furniture / Sanitary Fixtures Selection

After recently selecting fixtures at the plumbing wholesale store and already being faced with somewhat high prices, we received the corresponding offer from the plumber yesterday. As mentioned, we were prepared and were not really shocked by the price indicated at the bottom right.

Still, I wonder if some items are really worth it.
For example, a built-in faucet with a spout for the bathtub costs €600 more than an exposed faucet.
Okay, that’s something you may or may not want.

What actually unsettles me more is the topic of bathroom furniture.
Are these pieces from the specialized plumbing store really that much better than furniture from general furniture stores or home improvement centers?
There, the vanity cabinet plus the washbasin cost €1200 (about $1300) and that’s not even in the higher price segment.
On top of that, you have the mirror cabinet and possibly a tall cabinet.
Unfortunately, the washbasins and vanity cabinets are usually specially matched.
Does anyone have tips on how to create a stylish bathroom without spending a fortune?

Try searching for "keramag renova plan 1" and look under images to see what it can look like with a countertop.

We will reduce the depth of the countertop to 55cm (22 inches) because the vanity basin itself is about 48cm (19 inches) deep. The countertop will need a cutout for the basin, which will be wall-mounted. The basin will be positioned in the first left third along the 170cm (67 inches) length. We plan to install the Godmorgon cabinet under the countertop on the opposite, right side (so not directly below the basin, but offset—you can arrange it whichever way you prefer).

This is how I imagine it, and I believe it will work out fine... decades of experience with the moose

ok... now I get it.

The "bulky" washbasins or vessel sinks work.
But we wanted something narrower. I'm still not sure how to make that work effectively.

We'll go out again tomorrow.

A few questions:
1. Upstairs, we are getting a 130cm (51 inches) Villeroy & Boch Subway sink. The Villeroy & Boch vanity cabinet costs around 825 EUR even at Reuter.
Would the Godmorgon vanity from Elch also fit? I honestly see no reason why not. It costs less than half the price and would definitely meet our needs!

Hello @Nilo,

Which sink and vanity cabinet have you decided on now?
We will also use the Subway 2.0 double sink and I am still looking for a suitable vanity cabinet.
I really like the 120cm (47 inches) version from Elch with 4 drawers, but the dimensions don’t quite match.. :-/

I am planning to install 2 Godmorgon units from Elch in white high gloss, each 100cm (40 inches) wide. On top, a countertop in a matching decor, and above that, two vessel sinks from a large online retailer (I heard they used to sell books there…).

We ordered a base cabinet from Pilepal for our Villeroy & Boch Subway 2.0 double washbasin. It will be installed on Friday, and I can provide more details if needed after that.

Countertop washbasins should work well for that, of course. But the sink we ordered is a vanity unit that spans the entire width.

Are the bathroom furniture units from Pelipal cheaper? I looked in a catalog and got the impression that there is no price difference.
