I would like to replace the existing wooden walls of my garage, as shown in the attached photo, with a smooth surface that can be plastered.
The garage connects two houses, which are made of 24cm (9.5 inches) brick walls that have been later insulated with an additional 10cm (4 inches) of insulation, and these walls end just below the garage ceiling.
Behind these wooden walls, yellow insulation is visible. In the area near the floor, there appear to be green XPS (extruded polystyrene) boards installed.
Originally, I planned to simply replace the wood with cement fiber boards to address the sometimes significant moisture, but I am now increasingly concerned about ventilation and vapor permeability. Therefore, I would like to ask the experts in this forum for their recommendations. I hope the pictures provide enough information to assess the situation.
