PinkyPinky9 Oct 2021 11:47Good morning everyone,
I have a window here that hasn’t been closing properly for some time. I have the same problem with several doors and windows in the house, but until now I was able to fix it by adjusting the handle.
Around the window, there are the usual adjustment cams which I can turn with an Allen key to increase or decrease the distance to the frame.
Since the window no longer closes and the handle gets stuck at about three-quarters and can’t be fully pushed down, I tried adjusting these cams. However, I couldn’t identify which one is incorrectly set. I tested all possible adjustments and basically ended up misadjusting everything, but the window still won’t close properly and the handle continues to have the same problem.
This raises the question: Is there a “default position” where the window should definitely close? Even if it’s not completely sealed at first—that could be fine to adjust later.
Is there a way to tell which cam is misadjusted? I suspect that changing several different cams is just shifting the problem from one area to another.
Could the issue possibly be caused by some other setting on the window? Does anyone have tips on how to fix this window?
I have tried a lot already and am stuck now.
Window brand: Baltic
Best regards

PinkyPinky9 Oct 2021 12:16Hello,
Pictures will follow shortly. Edit: Pictures added.
The tilt protection already locks at a 90° position. If I unlock it manually with the window open, the handle moves smoothly all the way down. Mechanically, there doesn’t seem to be any issue. Since the handle can turn past the 90° mark and only locks at about three-quarters of a turn, I assume there is no problem here.
The windows are approximately 4 years old.
Regards

Are you turning the hex nut on the mushroom cam? 🙄
It’s definitely screwed out too far! The mushroom cam too. So, you need to screw everything back in.
I only know mushroom cams as eccentric cams.

That’s it – thank you!
Actually, I’m turning the nuts. These nuts are meant for adjusting how tightly the window is pressed against the frame – so they are definitely designed to be turned. This means they don’t move outward but only shift the mushroom head in an oval-shaped position.
The mushroom heads can also be pulled out – I haven’t even fiddled with that adjustment yet. All pressed in – no change, all pulled out: closes!
Perfect. I could have spent years tinkering with that.
Many thanks!
