I took photos of the windows in the house. They also have locks installed. The windows are 23 years old and are located on the ground floor.

The question is whether these locks are sufficient when the window is closed, or if it would be worthwhile to retrofit mushroom head locks.

The windows still appear to be in good condition. Retrofitting mushroom head locks is a manageable effort with significant benefits and is highly recommended on the ground floor (as well as in the basement and on upper floors for windows above garages or canopies).

Regarding burglary protection: Without mushroom head locking pins, a burglar does not need 10 seconds to pry open such a window.
