Hello,

how difficult and time-consuming is it to install hardwood flooring? I have never done anything like this before. Or is it really better to hire a professional?

I don’t know of any general rule, but I would always make sure that you can simply click the pieces together without having to do a lot of gluing, as that can be quite messy. I would also always prefer laminate flooring over hardwood parquet, as it is usually cheaper.

Yes, I have already considered that as well. I also think I might go with laminate. It is really cheaper and still looks good and elegant.

I completely agree. I find laminate flooring much better.

I have already installed parquet flooring myself! Admittedly, it’s not exactly an easy task! But it can be done alone, without professional workers. I guess it also depends on your experience with DIY skills! 😉 Laminate is indeed cheaper, but it definitely doesn’t hold up as well as real parquet flooring! So I would think twice about it! It probably also depends on how long you want the floor to last...

So our laminate flooring has already endured a lot, and it still looks great! I think it’s a matter of cost, since hardwood flooring is much more expensive, right?
Best regards, Marie
