Hello,
We have tiles and laminate flooring installed on our ground floor. Unfortunately, no appropriate transition profiles were used at the time. This has become increasingly bothersome. The height difference is about 9mm (0.35 inches). Drilling is not an option because there is underfloor heating installed.
I am considering a profile that could be glued onto both types of flooring. The hardware store couldn’t really help me, and I didn’t find much through online searches either.
Can anyone offer advice or assistance?
Best regards

nordanney29 Oct 2020 08:40I find profiles significantly less attractive than a clean edge. My advice: leave it as it is to avoid further frustration.
Is that really laminate? The print looks very realistic, like real plank flooring. May I ask which manufacturer and model line it is?
Regarding your question, I might also suggest wood skirting boards. Perhaps you can find them in a similar color/grain, so you could opt for wood instead of metal. However, I would also leave it as it is.

That would be my preferred solution at least.

Regarding your question, I might suggest adding wooden skirting boards. Maybe you can find ones in a similar color/grain, so you emphasize wood instead of metal. But I would also leave it as is. Yes, it is vinyl laminate from the brand Joka 839 Barrel Pine.
Thank you for your feedback.
I had feared that there would be no truly practical solution.
Raising the screed level – unfortunately, we didn’t think of that back then. 🙁
