Hello everyone,

...I’m getting lazier by the day. After dragging the floor vacuum out of the house again today to clean the car, only to carry it back to the other end in the laundry room to remove those small pesky lint pieces from the dryer, I’m now wondering how to make this easier. So:

Which handheld vacuum or cordless vacuum would you recommend? It definitely needs to be powerful and not just blow the dirt around. It would also be great if it had some small nozzles to reach the crevices in the car. It does not need to have wet vacuuming capability.

I would be grateful for any tips forever!

What are we talking about? You’re discussing 200-euro units, but I’m referring to small handheld vacuums for cars and the like under 49.90.
The Dyson V10 costs 550€ (about $590) – it’s a small handheld vacuum for use in cars, boats, or caravans. With the right brush, you can even vacuum dust mites out of (yes, OUT OF) your mattress, or with the long tube and motorized brush, you can retire your regular vacuum cleaner. The battery lasts for up to 160m² (about 1,720 sq ft).

I’ve been looking around a bit. My goodness, there is such a wide selection! By now, I think I prefer one with a cord. But even then, there are many options. I really like the handheld vacuums that come with an extension attachment – that gives me a lot more versatility. So something like that. The net tightens ^^

Take a look on mydealz for Dyson vacuums. They often have great deals. For example, right now on Rakuten, you can get the Dyson V6 directly for €129 minus €10 if you pay with Masterpass. You’ll still need the wand, the wall mount, and the wide floor brush – that brings the total to around €200. All these parts are available individually on Amazon and eBay. The battery lasts about 20 minutes.

I have visualized the “inserts” – with a 20-minute runtime, it could definitely be tight, especially when vacuuming the cars. So I have now focused on a corded one. I’m sure I’ll find something suitable. Thanks for your help!

A mite treatment costing 550 seems exaggerated to me. A bit of dirt is not harmful at all; it actually builds resistance and promotes health.

I bought the cordless vacuum cleaner from Makita for my car and when I'm on the go. If you already have Makita batteries, it’s really affordable. And if you don’t have any batteries yet, you can just buy some along with a cordless grass trimmer, cordless screwdriver, and so on!

After a long time, I finally decided to make a purchase.

My husband said that the blue Bosch GAS 18V-1 would be a great handheld vacuum, and since we already have that battery system, it made sense. He would also find such a vacuum very useful for cleaning up the work area after his jobs (he’s an IT specialist with lots of network equipment). Hmm. But knowing him, he kept looking and found the Bosch GAS 18V-10L. It also uses the same battery system, but it would be better for his work because he could vacuum directly while cutting at the customer’s site (at home, we have a very heavy, huge Starmix vacuum; carrying that into the car and possibly upstairs at a customer’s place is a hassle). Okay, but that one isn’t very practical for me in the laundry room or for smaller tasks around the house, especially since it would usually stay in the van (he’s getting that one for his birthday ).

So, I decided to review my selection list from May again. In the end, I chose the Fakir Hochschrank 160 Starky tall cabinet vacuum. The cost was 70 euros. It has a detachable handle, floor nozzle, washable filter, and a 4m (13 ft) cord. What can I say – I’m quite impressed. It cleans up well, tiles get vacuumed quickly, and I’ve cleaned the dryer and the car. It fits my requirements almost perfectly. It’s also quick to clean.

In summary, thanks again to @Nordlys – without you, I wouldn’t have thought that there are also corded handheld vacuums.
