Hello everyone!

I am planning a prefabricated garage from the company Garagenrampe for our house.

Apparently, there are two options for the foundation of this garage.

One option is a concrete slab foundation, and the other is strip foundations.

Which option would you choose?

Is it better to have a full slab poured and then lay tiles on top?

Or would you go for strip foundations and then pave around the garage?

No, the garage does not have a floor.

The precast elements will then be sealed towards the floor.

In this case, a concrete slab foundation would be the only option for me personally.

a steel wall garage that is plastered and therefore looks like a solid concrete garage.

My landlord used to manufacture garages and halls himself and did not offer plaster, only a sand finish — presumably he shared my skepticism about plastering steel. The texture can match plaster — also in long-term appearance — and except for the panel joints, the material doesn’t reveal itself. However, it should be noted: there is a local pumice “prefab” garage manufacturer and within the region one (formerly two) concrete garage manufacturers, so the small price difference between a high-quality (and consequently more elaborate) plastered steel garage and a precast concrete garage probably made it “practically impossible” to offer both in parallel.

That’s where two perspectives clashed, since the steel garage is also valued for the advantage of easy relocation.

It is definitely not planned to move or enlarge the garage in a few years. It will be built directly on the property line and represents the maximum allowed size.

In my opinion, there should also be a concrete slab underneath...

A garage is not seasonal decoration. It is installed and remains in place.

Haven't you basically answered your own question then?
