Hello everyone,
we had our planning meeting today and I need to clarify a question.
It concerns a T30 door:
- According to the Novoferm datasheet: structural dimension: 100x2125mm (4x83.7 inches), rough opening/nominal size: 1010x2130mm (39.8x83.9 inches), clear opening: 932x2091mm (36.7x82.3 inches), frame outer dimension: 1042x2159mm (41x85 inches) with a 25mm (1 inch) floor recess.
- We have a screed plus tiles layer of 18mm (0.7 inches).
Can someone tell me which size I need for my rough masonry opening?
Thanks in advance for your help.

Your screed (not to be confused with a dining table) is more than 18 mm (0.7 inches) thick. Definitely. Especially with tiles. Even the thinnest possible one (poured asphalt screed) needs to be at least 25 mm (1 inch)!
That’s 18 cm (7 inches) in total (16.5 cm (6.5 inches) plus 15 mm (0.6 inches) for tiles and adhesive) from the raw floor level, with 5 or 6 cm (2 to 2.4 inches) of screed and the rest being insulation.
Otherwise, just leave it to the architect—that’s what you have one for. If it starts like this, you might easily have a heart attack during the construction process ops: ops:

Thanks for your reply.
Dining table was an autocorrect mistake. My phone does not know the word screed :d
And you are right. My screed is more than 18 mm. It is a total of 18 cm (as you wrote).
I wasn’t completely satisfied with my architect. We are “unfortunately” building with a general contractor. The architectural service is included in the package. I initially decided on self-performance for about 1000€ difference from the T30. I didn’t anticipate the consequences.
