Hello,
we have a walk-in shower. The screed was naturally installed with a slope so that the water flows into the drain channel. Now the problem is that apparently the screed outside the shower area has settled, causing even a slight slope there. As a result, all the water outside the shower area flows toward the wall. Since we don’t have a glass door or similar barrier, this can happen quite easily.
My questions
- Is this a construction-related defect? Are there current standards requiring specific precautions in the bathroom area (the house was built a few years ago)?
- Are there any ideas on how to solve this problem?
Thank you very much!

A picture probably says more than a thousand words. The phrase "into the wall" isn’t quite correct; it’s more like "accumulates at the wall." Mea culpa.
Water outside the shower area collects in a corner by the wall. There is, of course, a silicone sealant joint and the wall is also waterproofed. So it’s probably not as bad as I first thought, but the behavior has changed compared to a few years ago (hence my suspicion that the screed has settled), and of course it’s annoying to have to wipe the floor now.

Or you can place a towel across the shower entrance when showering and hang it with your shower towel to dry. Okay, the question is whether this can be considered a construction defect that can be reported to the builder, or if a settling of the screed in the bathroom due to the wall waterproofing is not regarded as a defect.

whether there is any sinking of the screed So far, it is not clear which corner or how far that corner is from the shower, or where exactly the screed has settled.
It is normal for screed to sink during the first one or two years.
Therefore, I refer again to a photo!
