We are slowly planning to replace our old bed because it is no longer comfortable to sleep in. We have already read a lot about the advantages of waterbeds and box spring beds. We have looked at several options but are interested in hearing about personal experiences from owners of these types of beds.

You forget that everyone here uses the bedroom only for sleeping (this phrase is often used).

Without going through this thread again: box spring beds are overrated; there are “normal” beds with the same functions... and one mattress is enough... not two or three... it’s crazy: since one mattress isn’t sufficient, they add a topper on top (because the spring core is no good anyway).

Well, I can't complain. Above all, the box spring bed is higher, which allows for doing all sorts of messier things more easily.

We also have a box spring bed at home. Before that, I already had high-quality mattresses and slatted frames. And still, for us, sleeping in a box spring bed is noticeably more comfortable.

I can’t compare it to a waterbed.

We also considered it carefully for a long time and ultimately decided to purchase a box spring bed. We have not regretted this decision to this day. I can finally sleep through the night without back pain.

We also find it much better compared to our old waterbed.

And our two children have plenty of space as well.

It depends on which price range you are talking about. If you compare a "regular" bed with a box spring bed in the 1000-1500€ range, I agree with you. But when you buy a decent box spring bed, there is a world of difference.
