Hello!
I’m new here, although I’ve been reading for a while,
and I’ve already gotten plenty of good ideas from the forum.
Now I do need your help:

The house plan is almost finished,
the design is for two units of 80 m² (860 sq ft) each with exposed roof trusses.

I’m quite fond of a 20-degree pitched roof,
but when I calculate it, I would get a ceiling height of about 4.4 m (14 ft) in the middle, where there is a short corridor.

Would that look odd?
Especially, would the doors look out of place there?

The other rooms that would have this ceiling height are the bathroom (15 m² / 160 sq ft) and one child’s bedroom (15 m² / 160 sq ft).
For all other rooms, this height would probably not be noticeable.

I’ve been searching online for a long time but found hardly any photos.

Could you possibly share some photos of your exposed roof trusses?

A big THANK YOU to the community

That doesn’t look stupid at all; on the contrary.

And you can install a sleeping loft once the child is a bit older...

What is stopping you from deciding on open roof undersides room by room and installing a dropped ceiling in the hallway?

Take a look at model homes. I wouldn't say across the board that it looks bad or good. In my opinion, it always depends on the other dimensions.

It's a matter of personal taste and should be checked out in a furnished property beforehand. In my personal opinion, an exposed roof structure in the hallway looks nice. However, if you then have 2.50m (8 feet) of empty wall space above the wardrobe in the bedroom, it looks odd...
