ᐅ Are ventilation systems mandatory from 2013 onwards?

Hello everyone,

We have heard from different sources that ventilation systems have been mandatory in new buildings since 2013...
Can someone clarify this for me?

We have now received a quote for a decentralized ventilation system, and based on the floor plan and room sizes, it includes 7 units.
Does this law actually exist, and if so, what determines it? Is it based on a certain room size?

I will ask my architect next week, but I won’t see them until then, and I’m curious now!

Unfortunately, I don’t know enough about the subject to research it properly, and Google hasn’t been much help.

According to my information, a mechanical ventilation system with heat recovery is set to become mandatory under the new Energy Saving Ordinance 2012. This was originally planned to be approved by the end of the year, but the process is now delayed until 2013 and is expected to come into effect in 2014.

Phew, luckily we have already built our house or are currently in the final stage...

We would like to install the decentralized ventilators only in the bedrooms...

If I were you, I would reconsider this, regardless of the upcoming energy saving regulations. A decentralized ventilation system is not that expensive.

What do you mean by building expert?

The company’s proposal includes vents in the following locations:
- Bedroom
- Child’s room
- Child’s room
- Guest room
- Bathroom
- 2 in the open-plan living, dining, and kitchen area

I can see the need for vents in the bedrooms, but in the bathroom you usually ventilate anyway after showering, and in the kitchen for the odors. Since my husband is a smoker, he goes out to the terrace every evening, which also ventilates the living and dining areas...

Or am I being too naive?
