ᐅ Underfloor heating leaking? Is moisture rising up the wall?

TrompetenTomHello everyone,
for about six months now, we have noticed cracks forming in the walls at the lower part of the basement hallway. At first, we thought these were settlement cracks, but gradually we suspect moisture might be the cause. Has anyone experienced something similar? From our perspective, the only possible cause could be the underfloor heating. Or do you think it could be related to the dryer or washing machine in the adjacent room?
Best regards,

We had a similar issue on the ground floor. The outdoor faucet was located right on the exterior wall of the room, and it allowed water to seep between the screed and the walls. The original poster mentions all four walls.@OP: It would be helpful if all questions were answered and more details about the situation were provided (house type, floor plan, location of the washing machine, routing of the water pipes, waterproof concrete tank / tanking, high groundwater level, when the issue was first noticed, only on one wall or multiple, where exactly it started, etc.).

The original poster is talking about all four walls.Yes, in our case it was on all four walls: water got under the screed and rose up all four walls.T
TrompetenTom28 Aug 2022 22:49Sorry for the late reply. I tried to create a sketch here. The basement wall of Basement 2 is set back slightly, which I marked with the red line, as well as the door. It started at point 1, where we had a large picture standing, so only minor changes were noticed there. At point 2, there have been drywall panels since April because I’m finishing Basement 1 and took a break due to the warm temperatures. These panels completely covered the view, and I only saw it today after moving them. Points 1 and 2 look like cracks, but they are not; instead, the plaster is bulging out from the wall, as you can see in the pictures. Point 3 has been visible since yesterday, and you can see that the other walls show no signs of cracking but rather indications that the plaster might also be pushing out, which you can also clearly see in the photo with the stairs, where it is slightly visible. At point 5, our washing machine and dryer are located. The water pipes go directly there, and the drain is also in the corner. Point 4 is where the hot water tank is, and the pipes for the underfloor heating and other water connections to the house run there. I hope this gives you a better insight.
