ᐅ Topping-Out Ceremony – Which Type of Membrane Should Be Used to Seal Window Openings?

Hello,

Next week we are celebrating the topping-out ceremony, and I was thinking about sealing most of the windows with foil. I don’t want everyone to feel drafts.

Does anyone have a recommendation for which type of foil I should order?

Or just any advice?

Dress warmer, drink something hot,..

Having everything covered up also takes away some of the charm of the topping-out ceremony.

How well do you get along with the shell contractors? Just politely ask them to install the windows for you. Add an extra case of beer or 20 dollars for the guys, and you won’t have to worry about anything.

Stretch any inexpensive vapor barrier film, use four pieces of battens, and that’s sufficient.

I wouldn’t stress about it... The weather is nice after all, they shouldn’t be so fussy.

I have a team that’s not very tough. When I asked them when we want to celebrate the topping out ceremony, the unanimous answer was: when the windows are installed :-D
