Hello everyone,

In our new build, the tiles have now been installed. Some rooms will have parquet flooring...

So, in different rooms, there will be tile-to-parquet or parquet-to-parquet transitions.

We have underfloor heating in all rooms and a flowing screed underneath... A height difference should not be necessary except for about 1-2 mm (0.04-0.08 inches) between the different floor coverings...

Which type of transition would you recommend? The transition strips are not exactly very attractive... If strips are necessary, should they be glued down? (In some cases, the screed expansion joints will be located at the spot of the transition profile...)

Thanks for your answers.
Good luck, Christian

Just take a look at the Schlüter profiles. For example, the tile edge profile (stainless steel). Then simply lay the parquet neatly up to the profile behind it.

Sample image, it doesn’t matter which floor coverings are used. This provides a clean finish and separation between the coverings.

We only have a small cork strip. According to our flooring installer, it is necessary anyway, even though the parquet was glued down. It looks very neat.

I would also recommend using a Schlüter profile, although Schlüter is just the company name and similar products are available from other manufacturers. In most cases, the narrow stainless steel edge provides a wonderful transition.

I can also recommend the cork strip. It can be slightly compressed, which I think results in a cleaner fit.
