Hello,

my builder installed the wrong window.
The mistake was identified and fixed by relocating and enlarging the window.
Now I have noticed that the window lintel (if that is the correct term) was not moved or replaced.

The house was constructed from precast concrete elements / assembled from precast concrete.
Should I be concerned about this?

Thank you very much.

Attention: Just an amateur opinion! If the wall above the lintel is made of cast-in-place concrete, I don’t see any problems due to the expected load transfer. The lintel essentially only supports its own weight.

Hello

I would agree with the previous poster on that.

Hello uti-pepe

I believe that the window on the right was originally the same size as the one on the left.
The mistake was noticed, the wall was cut away, and a new window was installed. At the same time, a concrete column was constructed.
The lintel is now no longer a lintel but a stone. It no longer serves the function of a lintel. A structural engineer should take a look at this. If they approve it, then everything is fine. But I wouldn’t just leave it like this without checking.

Hello everyone, thank you for your answers.

@Steven: That’s exactly how it was. Both windows were originally the same size; the right window was later enlarged.
The concrete column (with a steel beam underneath) was also added later, as the door was shifted to the left due to the window enlargement.
