Hi!

As I mentioned in another post, I am currently installing the Faktum wall cabinets with the vertically mounted side hinges (119160).

The first door is installed.

The instructions on page 24 explain that you can increase or decrease the tension using an adjustment screw.

However, I was a bit surprised during installation. The tension in the mounting position is so low that the door does not even fully open – let alone stay open on its own. I have to support it with my head just to keep it open enough to place something inside.

Is this normal?

Also, the closing is suuuuuper slow—you can actually watch the door close. There is a damper, but this slow? When I saw the safety tensioners, I expected it to be a real “rocket.”

Regards, Jan 🙂

Have you already adjusted the tension? Different doors also have different weights that the hinges need to support – try setting it a bit tighter. The doors actually close very slowly towards the end. I don’t think this can be changed (and I wouldn’t see that as a problem).

Hi!

Thanks for the tip.

Could you explain the adjustment process a bit more clearly? Somehow, I’m having trouble following the screwdriver method!

Best regards, Jan 🙂
