After about 25 years, the toilet started to drip.

The picture shows the installation situation of the floor-standing toilet.

The seal between the trap and the first pipe was no longer tight. After I pushed it a bit further in with my finger, everything was fine again.

Is everything okay with this, or should I do something else?

Thank you

Hire a plumber to replace the seal.

After 25 years, a rubber seal can become brittle.

I think the seal should be replaced here.

If you think you can do it yourself, give it a try, but make sure to remove the water first. Otherwise, consult a trusted professional before you start fiddling with it.

Thanks for the tips!

Now the spot has been sealed for almost a month. Apparently, simply pressing the seal with a finger helped.

Since the spot is not under pressure—it’s only the wastewater after the trap—I am not making any changes at the moment.

To notice more quickly if it starts dripping again, I placed some kitchen paper underneath.
