ᐅ Wrong Color Delivered for Stair Railing – Is a Price Reduction Possible?

Golfi90Hello everyone.
Yesterday, our stair railing was installed on the concrete staircase.
It is a wooden stair railing with stainless steel rods.
The railing was ordered in a very dark brown (almost black). However, a much lighter brown was delivered.
When asked, the railing manufacturer replied that it was accidentally produced in the wrong color. They are now checking whether it would be more cost-effective to produce a new one or to collect the current railing, sand it down, and repaint it.
I could accept the color as it is currently installed. My wife is less convinced and might still want to negotiate a price reduction.
The total order value, including installation, is 2550€ (approximately).
What would be an appropriate discount on the invoice?

Just ask a stair builder for a quote. If they have to build the stairs new, the damage amounts to 2550. Since this is a cosmetic defect, expectations should not be too high. Maybe their offer will be convincing?

What would be an appropriate invoice deduction?None at all, since a defect repair should be done first. The staircase contractor intends to do this as well. So, initially do not pay any part of the invoice, but wait for the staircase contractor.
Of course, I won't just withhold any amount from the invoice!
Instead, I will suggest to the railing installer that they waive part of the payment in exchange for allowing the railing to remain installed "incorrectly."
This, of course, would only be done with their agreement.
That's why I wanted to ask what you consider a realistic amount for depreciation.

This saying hopefully says it all.
I would insist on the delivery of the ordered goods in the correct color, after all, you have spent enough time thinking about it.
