Hey,

Currently, it looks like in the picture. Now I would like to complete the splash protection.

A dimpled membrane will be installed vertically along the house wall, positioned in front of the membrane that is already in place. However, I don’t want to fill the entire area with the decorative stones. Instead, I am considering applying a layer of another material at the bottom—what material would be suitable for this? On top of that, I would place a geotextile fabric, and then the decorative stones. This way, the decorative stones would not be located in the invisible section.

Will this setup still allow proper water drainage, especially since there is quite a bit of concrete on the inner side?

Would someone be able to provide advice on this? Also, what color would work well for the decorative stones on top?

Thanks!

Regarding the drainage pipe, I assume you mean the yellow perforated one?

Now it’s installed on the inside... but I’m wondering how the water actually finds its way through the small holes into the pipe instead of flowing around it... which would make the pipe unnecessary, or at least ineffective if only a portion of the water gets inside...

Everything from gravel upwards, so fairly coarse material, is fine.

And then a fleece on top, followed by the nice stones.
You can skip the fleece. It is used as a barrier if something could grow from below.

I wouldn’t skip the fleece, even though nothing can actually grow through from below; it still separates your two layers of rock and costs next to nothing.

Drainage is, of course, the best solution.
I just zoomed in on the picture again. From what I can see, the rear part (towards the house) is very rough and mostly just leftover concrete. I would try removing the loose remnants. That might be enough for drainage, depending on how permeable the substrate is here.

Yes, I’ll take a look at that. Maybe also try to scrape away some of the concrete overhangs to create a bit more area for the insurance. Actually, there is still 1 meter (3 feet) of sand around the house from the foundation. So the excavation pit was made 1 meter (3 feet) larger all around than actually required and it is a sand slab.

Those things can even withstand tank fire. Towards the house, I would chisel away a bit of the concrete at the bottom to allow more water to seep through.
