So, this serves as a "survey" to quickly gather different opinions.

What do you think about flat roofs and pitched roofs? Which one would you choose?

Personally, I would always prefer a pitched roof. It looks better. It depends on whether the roof is for a rental building or a private home. For rental buildings, I would always choose a flat roof, as it is much easier and quicker to clean with a pressure washer.

Also, as I have already noticed, the heating costs in a well-insulated house with a flat roof are lower because you don't have to heat the "large" attic, which is usually used as a storage room. However, this also means you don't have a storage room!

The roof will be for my own house.
And there should definitely be a storage room included, but I will also have a basement once everything is finally finished, and then the attic will be converted for the children.

So, for my house, I had a full extra floor built instead of a pitched roof. Thanks to the flat roof, my children have an entire floor with 4 rooms (one each and a playroom for all three together) just for themselves. This way, my wife and I can also enjoy some peace, and the children feel really comfortable.

*lol*
Just for the kids!?! Whose house are you building? Yours or your children’s??
You can fit just as many children in a house with a pitched roof, and it looks much better too. It also offers a lot more, especially in terms of size.
So think about yourselves as well and build a proper house!
