Hello,

I am currently planning my new garage and have a few questions.
The garage is planned to be 4.00 meters wide (13 feet) and 7.64 meters long (25 feet).

My question concerns the roof structure.
It will be a simple supported purlin roof without supporting posts.
The ridge length is 4.0 meters (13 feet). Is it sufficient if the ridge purlin is 16 cm wide (6 inches) and 18 cm high (7 inches)? The supporting purlins are planned to be 14 cm wide (5.5 inches) and 16 cm high (6 inches). The rafter length is about 4.0 meters (13 feet). Is it also sufficient if the rafters are 8 cm wide (3 inches) and 14 cm high (6 inches)? The roof pitch is intended to be 15°. The roof will be covered with concrete roof tiles. Thank you very much in advance.

Best regards,

Hello,

it's not quite that simple...

1. The wall plates (sole plates) should be laid rather flat. 10/12cm (4/5 inches)
2. A 15° roof pitch for concrete tiles is not feasible without a special underlayment...
3. Purlin size preferably rectangular, 12/18cm (5/7 inches) possible
4. Rafters 8/18cm (3/7 inches)

Don’t forget the roof overhangs!

Hello,

do not use concrete roof tiles, but choose the v9 from Braas and set your roof pitch to 16 degrees, then a standard underlay will be sufficient. The tile is also of higher quality and lighter. The price is about the same as concrete.
