Insulation is also very important when planning a house. On one hand, you want lots of natural light and large doors, but on the other hand, these are often the points where a lot of heat can escape from the house. Of course, there are good insulated windows available, but what about the doors? What kind of front door, garage door, and possibly back door have you installed? What criteria did you use to decide?

This door is also filled with rigid foam on the inside, providing good thermal insulation.

I had aluminum front doors installed. The main entrance has double doors, and a smaller door was installed for the basement. The thermal insulation is exceptionally good.

So far, we have only had solid wooden doors, and the seals between the doors and the frames were not always completely tight.
I always have an image in mind from a TV program I once saw, where a house was examined with a thermal imaging camera.
The red areas, which clearly showed heat loss, were always around the door and window frames.

We also have a wooden door at the main entrance. A lot of heat is lost through it, so I am considering installing an aluminum front door. These doors offer high thermal insulation. I actually like the Schüco products.

The front door should be wide. This is especially advantageous when furniture or similar items are delivered. Aluminum doors are a good option and are available in various colors.
