Hello everyone 😀
I installed some electrical wiring in my basement and cut channels into the masonry for it. The walls are made of cement hollow blocks (30cm (12 inches)). Cutting into them opened up the cavities, and now I am looking for a way to close them up again. I was thinking of plastering, but that is quite labor-intensive because the cavities are so large. Does anyone have an idea of an easier solution?

Anything else would be quite makeshift and might not look advantageous in the end; for example, I am thinking of chipping away the plaster around the slots and then closing the slots with properly fitted gypsum boards of suitable thickness (about 9mm (0.35 inches)?). You would then fill these with joint compound, possibly applying a mesh tape to integrate them with the existing plaster.
