ᐅ Rust stains on tiles – is there anything that can be done?

Hello, I accidentally caused some damage to the tiles in a rental property. Where the metal shelves were placed, there are rust stains. I have already treated them with a special spray. The reaction was quite impressive, but the result is disappointing.

Gray patterned granite tiles with a brown discoloration in the middle.

Does anyone have any advice for me?

Oh dear, we have the same problem. The first year our daughter went sledding, we left the sled with steel runners on the pavement. The result was two marks in the concrete paving.

I think I have tried everything.

Special cleaner from the hardware store. 180 bar (2600 psi) high-pressure cleaner, sandpaper, and so on. Vinegar essence, tile cleaner, and more.

I can still see them 🙁

The mention of Lithofin is a good starting point, as the products from this manufacturer have so far delivered on their promises.
Further attention should be paid to the forum participants’ comments regarding whether the material is tile or perhaps a natural stone that contains the rust stains.
If it is ceramic tile or concrete stone (which I doubt), then cola is recommended!
No, this is not a joke.
Cola contains, in addition to a lot of sugar, phosphoric acid with flavorings, making it a triprotic (therefore weak) acid.
Get a makeup removal pad, soak it well with cola, and place the pad on the rust stain.
Place an inverted glass over it to secure the area and prevent accidental removal of the glass.
After 1, at the latest 2 days, you should see results. Keep the pad moist with cola during the treatment.
Afterward, rinse the treated area thoroughly with clear water and dry it.

Thank you all for the advice. I have now also been recommended to use 10% oxalic acid for granite tiles. I have ordered it and will give it a try. The tip about using cola is pretty neat as well. 🙂
