Hello,

Since nobody mentioned external blinds for the living and dining area in our new build, we are now very frustrated. Our window installer has offered us exterior roller blinds. They look okay, well, not great. But I don’t find the cassette too bad.

My question is: the price for the external blind for the 2m (6.5 ft) wide sliding door is 1,425 euros including tax. It is a Roma external blind DBL 70 with a basic electric motor included. Installation will cost extra. I find the price too high, especially when compared to online suppliers. What do you think?

What advantages do wider slats have compared to narrower ones? I would probably switch from the Z-shaped slat to the standard folded slat, but then the question is whether to choose 60 or 80mm (2.4 or 3.1 inches) width?

The wider slats result in fewer slats overall in the blind. This can save height in the housing and provides better darkening. The appearance is different when the blind is lowered and the slats are open.

I would also skip the Z-shaped slat in the living room.

1.00 piece
Warema base venetian blind E80 A6 S,
edge-rolled slat 80 mm (3 inches), guide rail type 2 with bracket, slats oven-coated, rails powder-coated
Slat color: RAL 9007 gray aluminum

Dimensions: W 1570 x H 2538 mm (W 62 x H 100 inches)
Price: 623.69 EUR net
Installed last summer

And Warema does not cooperate with Roma, installation was included, we supplied the power ourselves including installation of the STAK3 connectors. So they only had to screw on the guide rails and then fit it into the finished venetian blind box.

Your price is therefore unfortunately much too high 😳

Installation with power later is naturally a different matter than prepared as in our case, but that would be additional anyway.
