Hello,

perhaps someone here has already experienced the same problem or found a solution. The protective film was unfortunately left on my front door for too long, so the residue in the picture is very stubborn to remove. Using a hairdryer didn’t help. In some areas, I tried using tape to peel off the film, but that only worked partially in tiny pieces.

I’m stuck :-/

Take a look at Atou labels / film removers.

You will need to use chemicals for this. However, I would recommend testing it first in one spot to make sure the glossy finish doesn’t fade.

I would first try label remover putty and regular salad oil, as many adhesives are fat-soluble. If that doesn’t work, you might try denatured alcohol (but be careful with the surface!), and only then resort to stronger chemical cleaners.

I have had quite good experience with orange oil cleaner. Just be a bit careful, as HilfeHilfe already mentioned, and first test it carefully in one spot and possibly dilute it further.

Do you really have to do it?
Is it a replacement of the front door?

For a new build with a turnkey contract, the carpenter or the cleaning company should handle this, please.
