ᐅ Radio in the Bathroom – Yes or No

Hello everyone and good morning,

I have been considering for several weeks whether to install a radio in the bathroom on the upper floor or not. If yes, which model would be best and how should I handle the speakers? If I do install a radio, I would like to have two ceiling speakers, not placed directly next to the radio unit...

However, I already have a TV connection and network cables in the bathroom. Sooner or later, a waterproof TV (does it really need to be fully waterproof if it won’t be exposed to splashing water?) will also be installed there. That also allows for radio reception. Is it really worth spending around 200 euros on a radio then?

Who has a radio in their bathroom and can’t imagine living without it? Who has a TV there and mainly uses it for sound or news during their morning routine?

Best regards,
Michael

Thorsten, how and where did you mount the TV, and how long has it been hanging there? Is there a shower in the room? I would be concerned about moisture — does it work?

Hi,

the TV is placed on a shelf. Since 09/2014.

I don’t have concerns about moisture. The bathroom with shower and bathtub is actively ventilated, and the relative humidity rarely exceeds 50%, usually lower.

Best regards,
Thorsten

Hello

I have two speakers in the ceiling of almost every room. They can be inexpensive, as the resonance body of the suspended ceiling is enormous. Then there is one receiver above and one below in the storage room. From there, I can control the rooms. Radio everywhere, and almost completely invisible.

A bit simplified – how do you control the individual rooms?

Hello Sebastian

Simple setup: I got some old receivers that can drive up to 8 speakers in pairs. They don’t cost much and work well.

You can also get a control panel from a specialized store. It looks more elegant but, in my opinion, it is not as good.

So, do you listen in several rooms at the same time? Or do you have a separate receiver for each room?

How do you control turning the music on? How do you adjust the volume?
