I have renovated an apartment, and since the drywall has been painted several times before and has a poor surface texture, I decided to apply a skim coat to achieve a Q4 finish by sanding. The walls are completely smooth, and I have invested a lot of time into it.
Now the problem is, I specifically bought microfiber paint rollers with a low nap for smooth walls and used the paint Alpinaweiß, but the texture looks bad. If you look closely, it resembles a lunar landscape.
I have also tried thinning the paint with water, but it still doesn't look good. Spraying the walls is unfortunately not an option because taping everything off would be too time-consuming.
What am I doing wrong here, or do I simply have the wrong paint for this?

AvACaT31929 Jun 2024 21:17I identified the problem: the wall was too absorbent, which caused the texture to look uneven. I treated the entire surface with a deep primer, and as a result, the texture is now nicely smooth. I also used an Epodex latex paint to achieve an even better surface finish.
I hope this can help someone who has a similar or the same issue.
