ᐅ Prices and Experiences with Prefabricated Garages

I requested a quote from Baudiscount Garages for a plastered steel garage about 6 x 3 m (20 x 10 ft) and received an offer of around 3300 euros, which is extremely cheap. The Google reviews are also not bad, but that doesn’t necessarily mean much. Has anyone had experience with them? How much does a garage like this cost from a manufacturer like Görtz, etc.?

Have you specifically decided on steel garages, or are other construction types (concrete, timber frame, etc.) also being considered?

Basically, you need to break down the offers and compare them carefully. That makes it difficult to directly compare the prices.

For example, I have an offer from Garagenrampe (02.2019) for a double garage CH90 including installation with 2 Hörmann sectional doors, parapet, increased roof load (300 kg/m2 [62 psf]). Approx. 5.8 x 8.7 m (19 x 29 ft). Includes downspout, electric drives, 2 door openings, and a side door for 14,799 EUR (list price was 17,000 EUR).

Offer 2:
Großraumgarage München 90. One large door otherwise as above, for 15,359 EUR (list price 17,500 EUR).

For comparison, precast concrete garages were at least 50% more expensive. Due to higher requirements on my part, we will now have a garage built with masonry. Prices there are at least 100% higher.

Spacious garage or double garage 6x6m (20x20 feet) from Kemmler for €24,000 net, including foundation. Other manufacturers like Zapf or Steidle in my area are similarly priced.

These are precast concrete garages of good quality – obviously not comparable to steel garages.

I haven’t made a final decision yet; it’s mainly about the price since we have invested quite a bit of equity in the house purchase. The garage is primarily intended as storage space. I would actually prefer a garden shed, but apparently two parking spaces are required, and there isn’t much space. I also don’t know how strictly it is checked whether there are actually two parking spaces or just one.
