daniel12330 Jun 2018 13:23Good day,
I am currently building a city villa.
At the moment, I am working on the recessed downlights in the roof eaves. I need to install the wiring next week, but I have not yet planned the spacing or how many lights are needed.
Perhaps someone here can provide me with some information.
Details:
City villa with a floor area of 7 x 11 meters (23 x 36 feet).
Roof eaves overhang of 49 cm (19 inches).
I would like to have a nice, even lighting all around.
The downlights will be controlled via a logo system, allowing different spotlight groups to be operated independently.
I would appreciate any feedback.
Best regards,
daniel123

I would align the spacing with the rhythm of the rafters / trusses (if I were to plan such spotlights).

And I would only install those at the front facing the street, so that there isn’t constant bright light over the bedrooms and other rooms. Also keep in mind that these floodlights attract insects in the summer, which causes the exterior walls to get dirty quickly. We have five installed on the front of our house, and I wouldn’t do it again. Karsten

The house will be clad with facing bricks.
My main concern is how many lights to install and what spacing to use. Also, which spotlights are best.

Our house is just under 8 meters (approximately 26 feet) wide with brick cladding and has three spotlights each at the front and back. It looks really great in the evening! At the back of the house, the lighting on the terrace creates a nice ambiance—not very bright for reading, but perfect for a cozy atmosphere.

daniel1231 Jul 2018 13:04Currently, I’m considering 3 spotlights on the long side of 11m (36 feet) and 2 on the short side of 7m (23 feet).
I want to position them so that the lights are not directly above the windows.
I’m just wondering what brightness in lumens and beam angle would be suitable.
