Hello,
we are planning to install a photovoltaic system and a battery for our new build. A few questions have come up, and I would like to hear other opinions on them.

We are planning a photovoltaic system with about 9.8 kWp, half on the east roof and the other half on the west roof. I have now received two offers. One supplier offered crystalline modules, while the other recommended thin-film modules. What do you think would be better here? By the way, the thin-film modules are more expensive and require more space on the roof.
Regarding the battery, I have also received two offers. One is the Sonnen battery and the other is the Senec Home. Does anyone have experience with Senec or any of the other batteries? Or have you heard anything about them? I would also appreciate experiences or opinions on other systems.

Hello. Thin-film modules perform better when it’s cloudy outside, as they capture more energy under low-light conditions. So, it depends on the weather where you are. Good luck!

Hello,

I think someone else is also participating in the 10,000 houses program in Bavaria.

I have applied as well, but I am still unsure whether to go for 30% or 50% feed-in.

I will probably choose the battery and photovoltaic system from Solarworld. Somehow, there is very little support available on the market here.

You’re right. We have also submitted an application. At the moment, we haven’t decided on a photovoltaic system yet. But I really like the Senic-IES Li battery. You should take a look at it. Alternatively, the Sonnen battery. Which battery are you considering?

Did you still apply for your KfW 275 grant in 2015?
I was granted a repayment bonus of €3200.

Currently, the plan is to use everything from Solarworld: In-roof photovoltaic system 6kW + SunPac LiOn 6kW,
so it would all come from one provider—roof + photovoltaic + battery. The electrician involved is also reliable.
Is there any reason against this?

A solar battery would also be an option, but I don’t feel comfortable with the installation company for that...

We have also submitted the application. Today, I did some calculations regarding the repayment grant, and if I understand correctly, the repayment grant decreases as the size of the photovoltaic system increases. Regardless of the battery size? What kind of nonsense is that?

With the Senec battery, I like that you can also participate in the control power market, for example, receiving free electricity or being able to occasionally recharge the battery in winter using electricity from the power exchange.
