ᐅ Photovoltaic + Battery Systems – Which One? Experiences?

Hello,
we are planning to install a photovoltaic system and a battery for our new build. A few questions have come up, and I would like to hear other opinions on them.

We are planning a photovoltaic system with about 9.8 kWp, half on the east roof and the other half on the west roof. I have now received two offers. One supplier offered crystalline modules, while the other recommended thin-film modules. What do you think would be better here? By the way, the thin-film modules are more expensive and require more space on the roof.
Regarding the battery, I have also received two offers. One is the Sonnen battery and the other is the Senec Home. Does anyone have experience with Senec or any of the other batteries? Or have you heard anything about them? I would also appreciate experiences or opinions on other systems.

Good morning, dear homeowners and builders!
My name is Artjom, and I am new to this forum.
A brief introduction to my situation: We are building a passive house with KfW 40 standards in Hanover.
We also plan to install a photovoltaic system, possibly connected to a smart home. The battery storage should be added soon.
We have read that Tesla, for example, will offer the Powerwall in Germany, with 7 kW and 10 kW options, and that it is comparatively more affordable than current providers.
Has anyone worked extensively with this? Which inverters would be suitable, and are there any limitations regarding the choice of photovoltaic system?
We would appreciate your helpful answers.

Best regards

Should a photovoltaic storage system ultimately be economically viable? Somehow, I’m still not convinced. What are the levelized cost of electricity per kWh?

The initial cost of electricity generation should be around 20 cents per kilowatt-hour or less.

There is reportedly a company from Leipzig that aims to outperform the Tesla battery both technically and in terms of price. Both are expected to be available on the market this year.

What is a suitable amount of photovoltaic capacity for a house with 190 m² (2045 sq ft)?

Are there common issues with inverters, and what are the usual causes?

Does anyone have a high-voltage outlet in the garage where they charge their electric or plug-in hybrid vehicle?

Is it possible to use such a vehicle as a battery storage system?

Hello Artjom,

I have removed your link... please follow the forum rules. Thank you!

When considering all price information, you have to keep in mind that the battery storage alone is of no use; it has to be integrated into the existing system and connected to the modules on the roof. In that sense, the standalone storage prices only tell half the story.

Oh, sorry for the link. I will do better.

Yes, it is certainly understandable that everything should fit together.

In the current situation, I wonder if it would be better to wait with the battery storage.

The KfW275 program is being adjusted. Feed-in tariffs for surplus electricity to the public grid are 12 cents per kWh.

However, the trend is clear – electricity prices are rising, while feed-in tariffs will decrease to about 6 cents per kWh by 2019.

The question is, from when is a battery storage system really worthwhile?

At least with the photovoltaic modules and the inverter designed for this purpose, I want to be prepared...

But which ones are best suited for this right now?

Simply have a provision installed for a future photovoltaic system; usually a concealed shaft with empty conduit pipes. When you’re ready to install a system along with a storage unit, you won’t have dirt in your house, but the connection requirements will already be in place.
