Fortuna869 Jul 2014 11:42Hello,
I would like to know your opinions on the topic of photovoltaic systems.
The plan is for a house with 140 sqm (1507 sq ft) with a south-facing roof.
Is financing such a system worthwhile?
What are your personal experiences in this area?
Do you have to feed the electricity into the grid, or is it allowed/possible to use it yourself?
Are there any special incentives or subsidies available?
What disadvantages does installing such a system have (please don’t mention “appearance”)?

Whether it is worthwhile is a very individual calculation.
a) Roof pitch
b) Roof area
c) Shading
d) Orientation facing south
e) Share of self-consumption: Note: Only what you use at the time of generation counts. For example, if you heat your hot tub at noon, it may be more worthwhile than if no one is home during the day and you mostly use electricity at night.
f) Is an electricity storage system meaningfully usable?
g) What feed-in tariff do you still receive?
h) Which photovoltaic modules are currently available and affordable?
We have a 4.7 kWp system on the roof. Disadvantage: No roof window facing south is possible. Advantage: Return on investment after about 7 years.

Roof pitch is standard.
Shade = 0.0
We are both currently working full-time. However, I could change that in about 3-4 years.
Then one of us would be home around midday because of the child.

Doc.Schnaggls9 Jul 2014 12:10ROI = Return on Investment – meaning the system essentially pays for itself after 7 years.
Standard roof pitch?
What are you trying to tell us with that?
20°?
30°?
38°?
45°?
All of these are considered standard...
With intelligent home automation, you could also manage your own electricity consumption accordingly, for example, automatically starting the washing machine, dryer, or dishwasher when the photovoltaic system has sufficient output.

Dirk

Fortuna869 Jul 2014 12:15I would suggest a roof pitch of 45°.

The workload isn’t that big either.- Monthly VAT returns for the first year,...- Organize the Elster certificate
- Do the accounting (which is really simple with tools like Wisio)
Suddenly, you feel like a very successful entrepreneur
