I’m a bit confused about the best timing to pay the deep drilling company in order to avoid implicit acceptance.
Situation:
What would be the best approach regarding payment?
Thank you very much!

I’m a bit confused about the best timing to pay the deep drilling company in order to avoid implicit acceptance.
Situation:
- The deep drilling for the geothermal heat pump has been successfully completed, ball valve fittings installed in the technical room
- Invoice has been received
- Connection to the heating system and therefore testing whether the probes function properly will only be possible in a few weeks due to screed drying, heating system completion, etc.
What would be the best approach regarding payment?
- Pay immediately with the risk that the warranty period starts without the heating installer being able to fully inspect, or
- Pay a deposit of 80%, with the remaining 20% after acceptance
- Any alternative suggestions?
Thank you very much!
Peter.

One-sided arrangements will likely lead to discussions with the drilling team.

What exactly do you expect to identify as defects with the heat pump connected, which would also be relevant throughout the warranty period?
And what responsibility does the contractor have for the fact that you currently cannot carry out the tests you want? This is your area of responsibility.

And how is the contractor responsible if you currently can’t perform the tests you want? That’s your problem area. That convinces me. If my heat pump is only installed in 3 years, the drilling contractor can’t be held responsible. Especially since they verified the system’s performance conclusively with the drilling. That’s completely different from the screed, where defects can only become apparent after the drying phase.
@all: Many thanks for the feedback!

For example, a leak in the brine pipe? That’s what I meant. You will notice that immediately within one month. It doesn’t matter if the warranty is then shorter by one month.
