Hello,
I’m a bit confused about the best timing to pay the deep drilling company in order to avoid implicit acceptance.
Situation:
What would be the best approach regarding payment?
Thank you very much!
Peter.
I’m a bit confused about the best timing to pay the deep drilling company in order to avoid implicit acceptance.
Situation:
- The deep drilling for the geothermal heat pump has been successfully completed, ball valve fittings installed in the technical room
- Invoice has been received
- Connection to the heating system and therefore testing whether the probes function properly will only be possible in a few weeks due to screed drying, heating system completion, etc.
What would be the best approach regarding payment?
- Pay immediately with the risk that the warranty period starts without the heating installer being able to fully inspect, or
- Pay a deposit of 80%, with the remaining 20% after acceptance
- Any alternative suggestions?
Thank you very much!
Peter.
Normally, the deep drilling should already have been tested by the manufacturer as part of the service – a pressure test using the contraction method, including a report. Sometimes, this test and report are also part of the requirements from the authorities for the drilling permit / planning permission. The test can even be carried out "on a greenfield site," even without a building shell.
If this test has been completed, then your drilling is all in order, and you can safely proceed with payment.
