Hello,

After finally moving in, I wanted to have a new floor installed. However, many contractors said that linoleum flooring is very difficult to remove. The floor is full of oil stains, paint spots, and is generally in poor condition. Therefore, I bought floor paint from OBI and painted over it. I applied two coats. Then I applied two coats of parquet lacquer and let it dry. Now my question is: Will the floor deteriorate or become brittle over the years?

Thank you in advance.

Best regards,
Max

I assume you will notice earlier if the substrate does not meet the requirements specified for this paint.

mhmmm ...

this is already the second funny question from you. Are you sure you’re not here on behalf of a hidden camera show...?

What’s funny about that? And why a hidden camera? I will send photos of the floor tomorrow. Today the passage still needs to dry, so I can’t enter yet.

Best regards

There are special paints designed for such purposes, for example, 2K PU coatings. I assume that you have used these and applied them correctly (although maybe not, since that contradicts your statement that you applied parquet varnish on top afterward...).

May I ask who advised you on this?

Anyway, with the right paint (which I do not include parquet varnish in), it should work well. But that probably doesn’t help you at this point...

Why ask this DURING the construction? These things are usually considered in advance – you don’t decide on something like this on a whim.
