Hello everyone,
I have a quick question and hope someone here can help me.

We are currently almost at the end of our construction phase. On the ground floor, the walls were plastered with gypsum plaster (Q2). I have now sanded them and was about to start priming (so we can later apply drywall fleece), but a painter told me that it’s better not to stick drywall fleece directly onto gypsum plaster. There is a high risk that moisture in the walls will increase to the point where we might soon have mold problems. Is this really the case? Does anyone have experience with gypsum plaster and drywall fleece? Thanks in advance for your help.

Painter’s fleece on gypsum plaster is quite normal...

Ventilation can help gradually dry out the house over time. However, this has nothing to do with the fleece—it can still develop mold even without it.
