Hello, after moving out of our apartment, we have to repaint all the walls white because the colors are supposedly too intense (yellow/orange/blue tones). Is it possible to increase the coverage by mixing a light sand tone into the paint? It doesn’t have to be pure white, just light, right? How many times can you paint over textured wallpaper? Our landlord said no more than 4 times because otherwise the texture disappears.

How many times you can repaint textured wallpaper (Raufaser) primarily depends on its grain size. Secondly, you need to consider the thickness of the paint layer applied. To increase opacity, we sometimes add a bit of black tinting paste to the paint—but be very careful with this. However, you will then need to paint the ceilings as well; otherwise, it will be noticeable. I think you will probably need to apply two coats anyway, so you can just use pure white paint. Also, don’t buy any cheap paint at around 10 € per 10 liters (2.6 gallons), because then you will likely have to paint three times.
