Driveshaft8427 Feb 2019 14:24Hello,
we are currently looking for windows. We have someone who will install the windows for us, so now I am searching for an affordable source to purchase them. Does anyone here have experience with online window shops? The range of options is very large and confusing, and it is often difficult to assess their reliability. Ideally, I would prefer a direct sales source from a Polish manufacturer, for example. Can anyone recommend one or the other?
Best regards

Otherwise, every manufacturer is practically the same. Avoid advance payment or use a secure order method with insurance (trusted shop with insurance). Just choose an affordable offer that meets all your specifications.

Driveshaft8427 Feb 2019 15:24The measurements are taken by the same people who install the windows, or rather, by two window installers who know each other. Unfortunately, through their employer, they can only offer aluminum windows, which of course exceeds my budget.
Have you already ordered windows online? If so, where?

I would always at least double-check the measurements. In our case, the window specialist companies took care of it, but the result was “oh, it doesn’t actually fit.” One window was seriously off, so we accepted it at a discount as a goodwill gesture and had to create a new, suitable opening somewhere else. For the others, they had to make adjustments. There it was only 5–6cm (2–2.5 inches) too small.
Originally, I also wanted to order windows through a shipping service. They were so cheap. In the end, we went with two local companies, paying about 1000 euros (around $1,100) per window including installation. Some window handles and small parts were forgotten as well. On the south-facing side, we didn’t have handles for years. The cover caps were the wrong color...
Oh, and having a good local tradesperson is absolutely priceless (literally).
Installing the windows myself wasn’t an option—how would I even lift them? And there was no one available to do the installation.
So, the only choice left was a professional company.
I did order the front door “online,” which was a nerve-wracking experience because the company went bankrupt during the process, but thankfully everything worked out.

Hello
In the last house three years ago, I also calculated the windows online.
Excluding things like screws, internal and external sealing, and similar items, the difference compared to the local window manufacturer and installer was only about 15% below their price, including small materials and installation.
The only effort for me was a very detailed consultation and construction execution discussion.
The risk of planning, installation, or assembly errors was zero.
